F.O.T.S - Friends of the School
Friends of the School (FOTS) is an informal group of parents who volunteer to help and support the school with various fundraising, e.g. sausage sizzles and read-a-thons, and social events, i.e. school discos. Our aim is to promote and encourage a close relationship between home, school and community. As a bonus you get to meet some great people and have fun! Every parent/caregiver at TRS is welcome to be part of FOTS.
We meet a least twice a term to agree and manage fundraising objectives and activities for that term and liase with the school Board and Leadership Team to ensure objectives are in alignment with the school.
If you would like to be involved or want to find out more please email the team at fots@target.school.nz. Likewise if you have any requests or suggestions about how we can help improve our school community for our tamariki please send these in too!
Currently on FOTS are:

Our Kāhui Ako
A Community of Learning | Kāhui Ako is a group of education and training providers that form around children and young people's learning pathways, and work together to help them achieve their full potential.
Target Road School belongs to the Kaipatiki Kāhui Ako.
Our Kāhui Ako (Community of Learning) is made up of 9 incredible schools and currently 3 Early Childhood Education Centres.
As a Kāhui Ako we are looking forward to strengthening the relationship and transitions between our schools, generating a passionate community of engaged families and supporting both students and teachers to lead a good life both in school and out as lifelong learners.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a community of inquiry that promotes student achievement and lifelong learning. We will strengthen links between early childhood, primary, intermediate, secondary and tertiary sectors within our community to ensure that student needs are met. Students will be supported and challenged in their learning environment to set and achieve personal learning goals. We will work in partnership with students, parents and whānau to raise student achievement and provide a clear local education pathway for all.
Our Purpose
As a community of learning our aim is to work collaboratively, strengthening pathways for our students throughout their educational journey. This will involve developing a holistic pathway, acknowledging each student’s strengths, as they transition through various educational providers within our community. Robust and rigorous data analysis around our students will be shared across our educational providers.
