At Target Road School we aim to provide an inclusive learning environment where all learners have multiple opportunities to aim high and achieve. 

We want learners to know how to improve their learning and to be given the opportunity to do this. We want learning to be connected across the curriculum so that learners can link the learning they gain in one area to that of others and we want learners to achieve high levels of success.

We value and respect all cultures and believe that it is important for us all to continue to learn about who we are; to seek knowledge about where we have come from; to find out about the histories that have helped shape us and to share this with each other.

We value partnerships in learning with you and your child and want to develop effective home/school partnerships with you to help us to understand better how we can meet your child’s needs. We want to connect with you to work together to achieve the best we can for and with your child. We want you to talk with us and build a learning relationship that will support your child to achieve their best.

We want learners to take charge of their learning and approach it with a desire to know more, do more and want more

We have teachers who are committed, on-going learners themselves; who recognise their responsibility of leading learning and who will inquire rigorously into their practices for improvement. This helps to ensure that the teaching and learning programmes we design are carefully considered, evaluated and put into practice.

We will use assessment  information in Reading, Writing and Mathematics to support and drive learning across the curriculum ensuring that we report to parents and students on progress and achievement in relation to these at least twice each year.
